Festival Of Light Lantern Parade

Artist: Fratton Together CIC, St Mary’s Church and Splodge Designs

Location: Victory Business Centre, Fratton

Friday only - starting at 7pm

Starts at Victory Business Centre, Somers Road North, Fratton, Portsmouth PO1 1PJ and moves down Fratton Road to St Mary’s Churchyard. You can watch from the pavements on either side of Fratton Road or in the Churchyard when it arrives.

The Fratton Fox is out on the streets again! Now in its tenth year the Festival of Light Lantern Parade in a magical event made for and by the people of Fratton.

You can be part of it too by making a lantern in one of the half term Workshops led by Splodge Designs.
Or make your own lantern at home and bring it on the night. Please remember all lanterns must be battery lit. No naked flames.
Or you can enjoy simply the spectacle from the pavements on either side of Fratton Road.

The parade will be led by Batala Samba band who will perform later in the evening.

The Festival of Light is a project run by Fratton Together, a Community Interest Company (CIC) who also runs the Fratton Together Pantry at 95, Fratton Road, where Fratton Together is based.
It is a new organisation, which has grown out of Fratton Big Local, that works collaboratively with partners to develop new projects and events. Consultation, collaboration, partnership working and volunteer support are key to all its activities.

Artist Bio:

With over 23 years of experience, Splodge Designs is a dynamic community arts company led by Artistic Director Clare Jefferson Jones and Design/Sound Director Paul Jones.
Specializing in engaging community participation, Splodge Designs has worked on a variety of creative projects, including carnivals, lantern events, puppet performances, soundscapes, and workshops. They collaborate with people of all ages and abilities to produce unique artworks, commissions, site-specific installations and events.
