See Portsmouth youth clubs represented in a whole new light in a series of exhibitions, with artwork created by local young people in pop-up inflatable galleries. Watch their work ‘glow’ and animate using augmented reality, creating a series of immersive experiences which utilise both analogue and digital platforms.

No device? No problem. We will have stewards at each venue ready to greet you and show you how to interact with the AR element of the artwork using tablets.

This has been an opportunity for local young people from each of the council run youth clubs to showcase their creativity and celebrate their spaces as part of the Arts Council England, National Lottery funded project by foursandeights; Pompey Glow Up – A glowing tribute to Portsmouth’s youth hubs.

Putting these 5 vibrant, busy, and much loved youth spaces on the We Shine Festival Map this year! We can’t wait for you to see their work!

Artist Bio:

Foursandeights are a print collective and riso studio based in The Hotwalls Studios in Portsmouth.

They are both graphic designers from Portsmouth with a passion for all things print. Marie is an award winning graphic designer and senior lecturer teaching graphic design at University of Portsmouth. Darren is a graphic designer, illustrator and a fellow part time university lecturer also teaching graphic design. They hold several professional memberships including The British Printing Society, The Society of Bookbinders, The Oxford Guild of Printers and are Adobe Certified Professionals. They have delivered public talks, multiple exhibitions and worked locally with the council and charities in youth projects across the city in recent years. They also deliver workshops for all ages at the Hotwalls Studios and within schools and venues across the South Coast.
