The Fable of Fox and the Fireflies
Experience a wonderful new fable at Foxes Forest in the Hilsea Lines. Discover how Foxes Forest received its name by following the Fireflies trail in search of the clues and the little fox.
Families are welcomed into Foxes Forest to experience the original fable of Fox and the Fireflies. Follow a trail lit by the Fireflies along the path that joins the Rangers Station in Bastion 3 to Casemates Studios in Bastion 4.
Starting at the Casemates Studios. Follow the Firefly trail map to guide you to 12 Firefly houses dotted along the path. Each trail location along the path tells a part of the story. Seek out the little Fox light installation hidden in one of the Casements in Bastion 4.
Choose a colour and doodle a wish to light up the Spinnaker Tower. If the Fireflies like your wish they may choose you to witness the Spinnaker magically change colour from a special view point on the trail!
Refreshments and hot drinks available at Casemates Studios Café. A torch and sensible footwear recommended!
Seekers are delighted to partner with Sustrans on this project.
This event will also be used to launch an exciting new project with Portsmouth City Council and Sustrans, to engage local people to bring Hilsea Lines to life and create a community vision for the future. As part of the trail, we will be gathering feedback about how people experience and use the Hilsea Lines.
